wavered slightly, but then strengthened as he gripped his sword hilt

I am doing my duty by removing you!”
As one the mages drew their weapons and settled into fighting stances.

and Kipsett also drew their weapons, their faces hard. They
would not be
gathered and bound like criminals, taken to the mercy of
the Empress.
